L’articolo, utilizzando documenti editi e inediti, indaga la produzione di Marco Li Puma e Gregorio Balsano, argentieri attivi in Sicilia nella seconda metà del Settecento. Il primo è attestato a Petralia Sottana, dove realizza diverse opere tra cui l’inedito servizio di cartagloria in argento del 1758 commissionatogli da don Gaetano Carapezza, procuratore dell’altare delle Anime del Purgatorio della Chiesa Madre, e a Petralia Soprana, centro in cui si trova l’unica opera firmata, la cassettina per elemosina custodita nel Tesoro della Matrice. Throughout the eighteenth century, the Spanish navy was extensively reformed and enhanced as a consequence of the new model of Monarchy that the Bourbons introduced. Among the measures adopted, it is remarkable the erection of the naval officers corps according to the needs and obligations that maritime war had in this century. This group becomes the paradigm of the new professionalization and new training approach, and its members had great relevance due to its great mobility around the empire and the power of the naval institution. W artykule przedstawiony został stan techniczny dróg lądowych i rzecznych, mostów, grobli oraz pozostałej infrastruktury komunikacyjnej w Polsce na podstawie relacji podróżników z zagranicy, w tym Rosjan. Stan oraz jakość lądowych i rzecznych środków transportu był oceniany przez cudzoziemców bardzo nisko, podobnie jak jakość usług oferowanych w przydrożnych karczmach w Polsce i na Litwie. W rezultacie podróżowanie w XVIII w. po Rzeczypospolitej mogło stanowić interesujące doświadczenie.
